Live like you don’t belong

belong-2

Belonging.

We all want to feel like we belong.

So, we work hard at fitting in…

Or, blending in with the crowd.

But, the problem is we really don’t belong.

We were created for more belonging than this sin-infested world can give us.

The belonging we look for here is so temporary.

Friends come and go.

Jobs change.

Families move.

Graduation happens.

People die.

One of the biggest challenges you’ll face today is to look for the right kind of belonging…

The kind of belonging that ultimately lasts forever.

If you want to find that kind of belonging, you need to live every day like you don’t belong.

Sounds crazy, right?

But, if you do that, chances are good that you’ll find other people just like you who are doing the same thing.

And, that’s where you’ll find the kind of belonging you’re looking for.

“My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. 10 All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory.

14 I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. 15 I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.16 They do not belong to this world any more than I do.

20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

Jesus in John 17

  1. I concur. The Lord has shown me that a lot lately. Why am I trying to fit in where I don’t belong? I need to keep a Kingdom headed mindset. We are just traveling here…. Passerbys, hopefully making a positive difference for the Lord.
