3 things we all want…and where to find them

three things

There are a few things in this world that the majority of us seek or want:

Meaning (or purpose).

Hope.

And peace.

We all want our lives to mean something…to have a purpose to get out of bed every day.

We all want hope that there’s more to life than what we experience in our daily routines.

And, we all want to live in peace.

Whether you find purpose and hope and peace in your life and in your relationships ultimately depends on where you look for it.

Because there’s no shortage of places that we can look for these things…

We can look for our purpose in a job.

We can look for our hope in a lucky break or the next big opportunity that comes our way.

We can find peace in solitude or our favorite place to get away.

But, none of those places or things will give us purpose or hope or peace that lasts.

The bubble always bursts at some point.

So, if you find yourself looking for these things and not finding them…

If you’ve ever been left feeling disappointed, disillusioned, unloved, or unfulfilled, let me suggest that you look to the One who knows you better than you might think…

Your Creator.

The One who made you knows you the best.

And, He’s made promises to you if you seek Him and trust Him.

Promises that give you meaning and purpose.  (Psalms 57:2)

Promises that give you hope that there’s more to life than what this world has to offer.  (Romans 5:3-5 & 8:23-25)

Promises that give you peace when your world seems everything but peaceful.  (Isaiah 26:3-4)

Your Creator God is worth trusting.

Your Creator God is worth seeking.

If you’re still looking for purpose and hope and peace in your life, look no further than Him.

13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13 (NLT)
