Something to live for…
Something to aim at.
We need all of that.
(In case you’re not convinced, try getting excited about living with no purpose or meaning or direction and having nothing to live for.)
We need to aim at something in life or we end up either aiming at nothing or trying to aim at too many things and hitting nothing.
May I suggest to you at the beginning of another year that you are what you aim at.
And, the targets you shoot at in life are the things that give you purpose and meaning and direction.
These are the things that we value the most.
The things that we get out of bed every day for.
The things that we sacrifice for.
The things that we’re known for and that define us.
The things that we’re willing to bleed (and even die) for.
So, what are you aiming at in 2016?
A better you?
Whatever it is, now is the time to think about what you’re aiming at this year.
And, if you’re anything like the rest of us, may I suggest that you aim at this…
To know God more.
If you make this your aim, you will find the purpose and meaning and direction that you need for 2016…and beyond.
7 I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ.[a]For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.
