What if your life really was an open book?

open book.title

Books can be described a lot of different ways…

You might hear someone say…

“That book was a good read…”

“…a real page turner.”

Or, you might hear them use words like…

“Interesting, deep, confusing, inspiring, hard, boring, creative…”

(I think you get the drift…)

What about your life?

You’ve probably heard some form of the phrase, “life is like an open book…”

Which got me thinking…

If your life really is like an open book, what are people reading?

How would people describe your life?  What words or phrases would they use?

What kind of “review” would your life get?

I was reminded recently that people don’t listen to you…

They read you.

They watch you to see what kind of person you are.

Are you really who you say you are?

Because it turns out that our actions really are louder than our words…

People are reading you every day.

And, if you say that you’re a Christian, people are reading you to see who Jesus is too…

Which means you better make your life a “good read.”

1Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

1 Peter 2:12 (NLT)

  1. And as a fiction writer, what I write reflects on my relationship with Him. You have given me some serious food to chew on. 🙂
