If life is like a race then we all run.
In a typical day, we might run to work or to the store or over to a friend’s house.
We might run errands.
Or, we might run our kids to school or to practice or to whatever it is our kids do.
We might even go for a run.
Every day, our lives are full of running.
Running to the next paycheck…the next raise…the next big job opportunity.
Running to keep up with the crowd, because you don’t want to be the one left out and alone.
Running to make your life mean something…to be somebody.
The question is what are you running for?
What’s your finish line?
Have you ever stopped to think about what you’re really running for?
What’s your purpose?
What did God put you on this earth for?
When your race is over, and you look back on your life, will all of your running mattered?
Is your life right now a race worth running?
God put you on this earth for a reason…your life matters to Him.
Run like it.
He has given you gifts and abilities and relationships and opportunities to make an eternal difference today…and every day of your life on this earth.
You only have one life to run.
Run to win.
“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” (I Corinthians 9:24)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)
