It’s a loaded word.
Once you’ve called yourself a Christian, you’ve put yourself in a category that’s often stereotyped…deserved or undeserved?
The thing about stereotypes is that there is often a lot of truth in them.
Take the stereotype that all Christians are hypocrites.
Unless you wake up one morning magically perfect, you will always be a hypocrite to some degree. That sin nature is a powerful thing…
So, what do you do?
Give in to the stereotype or fight it?
Maybe the better question to ask is this…
Are you the reason people want to follow Jesus or the excuse they use not to?
Everyday is a choice.
You can be the reason or you can be the excuse.
What’s it going to be today?
“Dear friends, I warn you as ‘temporary residents and foreigners’ to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when He judges the world.”
